It should come as no surprise that many people out there like to have their favorite BlackBerry device to be available in multiple colors, especially white. We have already seen most of the current BlackBerry 7 devices launch in white (like the Torch 9810 and Kevin’s beloved white BlackBerry Bold 9900) and now they are adding two more devices. Set to launch in the second quarter of 2012, RIM is bringing both the BlackBerry Curve 9380 and the BlackBerry Bold 9790 out in all of their white glory as well. Choice is always a good thing, but so many white devices can’t be so good for CrackBerry Kevin’s pockets 🙂
AT&T in its typical fashion has yet to release the latest BlackBerry Bold 9900 on their network. There have been quite a few signs pointing to its launch soon but even AT&T has been conflicted on the subject announcing it in their Twitter feed and the deleting it. Now we have yet another sign pointing to a launch soon. Bla1ze over @CrackBerry got sent a picture of an OtterBox case branded for an AT&T store that has already made its way to an AT&T store location.
Anybody want to guess when AT&T will get off their lazy bums and release the 9900? This is getting to be as bad as the Bold 9000 launch but at least AT&T does not have an exclusive this time.
In my opinion Blackberry wins this year. They made more move in innovation their devices this year than they have done in the past 3 years. You tell me which one would you prefer and why.
A good sign for RIM, as it appears the BlackBerry Bold 9900 has sold out. Yes, you cannot purchase the 9900 online for the Magenta carrier. We’ll definitely like to know what their sales figures were, but as of now the Bold 9900 is “temporarily out of stock”. The critics blasted RIM for the BlackBerry 7 devices, but now that consumers and critics alike have gotten a chance to check out the new devices, it seems their attitudes have changed. At least you can say it is slightly apparent for T-Mobile customers.viaTMoNews

With the latest OS update today v1.0.7.2942 Readers have been noticing several of the apps working through Bridge without WiFi with this latest update, although not all of them are it seems that most are. It is nice to see that I can submit my scores and check the weather when no wifi is available now and not need to use the bridged browser.
We do know App World and Kobo are currently not able to do this.
We do know these app are capable.

Many app that have web based leader boards or rankings are also working.
This list could be endless it appears but it is nice to see native and 3rd party apps working without wifi and taking advantage of the internet while being bridged.
Special thanks to Will and Randy and others who sent stuff in, if you care to share anything else, please leave a comment with this post or chat it up in our forums about what you’ve noticed.
To test this out, simple turn off your wifi on the PlayBook and turn on bluetooth, then open an app that uses an internet connection and see how it goes.
We saw a few specs trickle out on the BlackBerry Dakota 9900 and Montana 9930 in leaked roadmaps. Here we see a full break down of all the technical specs for the BlackBerry 9900 Dakota. One thing to note is it lists the Dakota’s processor as ‘QC 8655′, which looks to be the Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM 8655. It is great to see that the Dakota will be running on a solid processor for 2011. The Dakota will run on 5GHz WiFi and have 8GB eMMC, which means you may be able to use all the internal memory for app installs. Hit the break for the rest of the goodies.
